The European Virtual Congress Being Radical ´21 will take place in virtual format for all participants. However, the face-to-face headquarters in Baeza, Spain will remain. The virtual mode is the form of total participation without the need to complete anything in person. Attending through the Baeza headquarters provides the relationship aspects that we usually have in this form of meeting. Therefore, everyone will be able to attend virtually and comply with everything necessary, leaving face-to-face assistance as a voluntary choice if desired and possible. For everything, the dates will be three days: July 6, 7 and 8, 2021 because both the virtual congress and the Baeza headquarters will be shared spaces.

What do we understand by being radical

 

If we have solutions, our intention is not to dictate them. If we have answers, our intention is not to impose them. We want to be radical in the way each of us does things. Perhaps, artistic education is lost when we forget that the substantive part is artistic action. From education, we have sometimes turned artistic practice into an adjective. Other times on an objective or any other complement. Art practice is educational per se. Artistic action serves the content and the way it does it on the same plate, so its action is doubly effective.

What we propose, being radical, is to bring artistic action to the fore. We don't want to talk about art or art education, we want to do it. Doing is internalized and we are credible if what we defend we carry within us.

 

It is for all this that the thematic axes of the congress are the participation formats themselves: let's not talk about artistic education masterfully to show it, let's share it by doing it. In this way, the participation and the organizational structure of the congress are articulated around action as the axis of theoretical development. The central thematic line of the congress is, therefore, this very thing: action is always the starting point. The plenaries are actions that reflectively develop a concept, but proposed from the action. The communications will be the actions themselves or graphic, videographic or sound evidence of actions.

 

At the end of the conference and as a closing speech for the congress, dialogue and reflection sessions are proposed to discuss among all.

 

Other sub-themes of the congress will be all those that we always bring, no matter what is proposed. Our social commitments, nature, technologies. Through art everything is connected, consequently, other themes are all. For all these reasons, the invitation to participate in the congress is for us to bring our experiences of art and education or artistic education through our own art or educational experience.
