Melissa Lima Caminha: Let's be Feminists! Artistic projects based on feminism from the ERAM University School (UdG)

With this poster, I seek to present two research and learning projects based on the arts, developed in the Performing Arts Degree of the ERAM University School (UdG), which have feminism as a central theme that inspires actions, performances and theatrical works. I will be presenting two works. The first has been carried out in the subject Area of Creation II, by second-year students, and directed by the actress and teacher María García Vera. WITCH International Tellurgical Congregation of the Women of Hell is a musical show in which thirteen women summon a secret concert. “A concert, a coven, the initiation ritual towards a no future. They conspire, celebrate, question the future, the gender revolution and themselves, putting the concept of identity in doubt ”. The second work consists of a sample of actions carried out by students from ERAM and the University of Barcelona. A La Babalà is part of the teaching innovation project "Overflowing the University". Under the care of professors Judit Vidiella (ERAM) and Assumpta Bassas (UB), the project is set up as an open and creative dialogue with works from the exhibition Feminismos! from the CCCB (Center for Contemporary Culture of Barcelona). The exhibition is given in the Pati de les dones and in the lobby of the CCCB, as the closing of the Body Practices subjects: Performance Studies of the Fine Arts Degree (UB), and Expressions of Contemporary Culture, of the Performing Arts Degree (ERAM University School). At the end of the show, students and teachers have re-enacted the piece Make a salad, by Alison Knowles, with a collective meal. The poster wants to encourage people to investigate. Why not make feminism an institutional framework of learning policies, management policies and affection policies, beyond the subjects taught by feminist women? How is the gender perspective and feminism incorporated in educational institutions today? Is it possible to go beyond artistic and educational projects and incorporate feminist practices in other areas and institutional policies of universities? Educational and research artistic practices such as those presented here respond to the need to incorporate an urgent and fundamental policy such as feminism and the gender perspective, not only in subjects led by feminist women, but also in institutional management frameworks. academic and university policies in a transversal way.
