The surrealist group put into practice different innovative techniques in order to obtain tools to enrich the creative processes in the plastic and literary field. The confirmation (thanks to Breton's efforts) of sessions of hypnosis, sleepwalking, lucid dreaming and others in which artificial states of madness, unconsciousness or automatic drawing are enhanced, as when they played the Cadavre Exquis, is preserved. All these experiments are understood as potential sources of creativity.
