Amparo Moroño Díaz: Women of the Valley who look at the Prado

Mujeres del Valle who look at the Prado is an experience that aims to activate a long-term collaborative process between the Prado Museum through its Educational Area; the Culture Program of the Mancomunidad del Valle del Jerte (Extremadura) and a group of women from this region organized through women's associations.
The proposal is specified in a work of reflection and collective analysis around the works in the Prado Museum collection from the perspective of various groups of women from the Valley whose life takes place in a rural environment with great agricultural activity mainly related to the cherry cultivation, which articulates and conditions the vital processes of the inhabitants of the region.
Based on this idea, a work process is proposed in dialogue with the museum that leads us to make a collective analysis of the modes of representation of women in the works of the Prado, asking ourselves what is the profile of the women who usually they are represented in the works through an analysis of the conditions of power, race, class, etc. they have in common to, later, make a collective analysis and reflection on the ways in which these are publicly shown through the works.
